Spiritual teachers are an important part of any spiritual path. It’s important to know what the true role of a spiritual teacher is so we don’t get confused, attached and further lost in illusion, as so many are. The true role of a spiritual teacher is to be a clear mirror reflecting the universal Truth that is always in the student. It is Truth speaking to Truth. We sometimes call this transmission, which is a very misunderstood word. This takes the teacher’s complete surrender so that Truth can express itself through an empty vessel without the interference of a separate self. It is a meticulous role in all areas of a teacher’s life, not only while teaching. It is a complete surrender of all of one’s life and self to Truth. From henceforth we live as an expression of Truth. In this way we can be a clear mirror.
